d-torso SpaceShuttle 180 “hikoudan”is a craft based on the most famous spaceship around the world. The body consists 62 parts cardboard pieces, and a 180mm-long space shuttle can be assembled. Each part are laid out in a cardboard sheet of two colors, black and white. Everyone can make it up easily without any glue or scissors.
Space shuttle is called the most complex machine among human history. We reproduced the nose cap and wings to glide the atmosphere to every detail and tried to make it as real as possible. Please enjoy to take the space shuttle in your hand to feel how it gave a romantic dream to so many people, and how it made such a big step for human race.
The d-torso Airplane is a specially-made piece based on the jet airplane. Each of the figure's 67 pieces (3 for the stand) is precisely laser-cut. It becomes 202mm long when assembled. All of the pieces are set in 2 sheets of white and yellow cardboard paper, and no extra elements—including scissors and glue—are needed to assemble.
It is originally made as a collaboration piece between d-torso and Solaseed Airlines which was released on all Solaseed Airlines flights on February 1, 2013. Now it is available for all the customers with white and yellow color.
It has a long, narrow airframe and beautiful wings. The engine, wing trim and tail wing feature a brilliant yellow, making the plane our first product to include two different colors on one sheet of cardboard.
It is a perfect paper craft for kids and adults as the weekend hobby.

The d-torsolaseed was made based on the analogy between the d-torso Pigeon110 and airplanes.
As we all know, the airplane was originally designed based on a bird. But throughout the designing process of the d-torsolaseed, we analyzed the structures of both the airplane and birds, and found out how amazingly alike they really are (see the picture on the right).
The d-torso system is perfectly tailored for designing curvy objects such as animals, but not as suited for linear objects such as buildings, machines, etc., because the material itself already possesses that type of mechanical structure. To make this airplane, we based our design on the d-torso Pigeon, a choice which proved successful. It may look very easy, but it is always a difficult challenge to make new d-torso products. We made this one by trial and error, and I believe this experience will bring us to the next level. Now we feel that we have opened a new door to another d-torso world by successfully producing this non-animal object.
At the end, special thanks must go to the Solaseed Airlines staff and the Oita Bank Business Solutions Department for giving us a chance to create this great product.
